Birthday Signature Bingo

My daughter turned 21 last week! At one stage she suggested playing some games at her party to help people mix a bit. We hadn’t really done anything about organising games but then I had a few ideas. I’ve played signature, autograph or human bingo a few times at events as an ice-breaker. We made our birthday signature bingo card so it was all things that were true for the person to sign/autograph in relation to our daughter.

The Birthday Signature Bingo Card partially filled out.

This could easily be adapted for anyone’s birthday or other special event. It worked well to get people talking with others who they didn’t know.

How to Play the Game:

  1. Give everyone a bingo card and a pen.
  2. Invite people to collect signatures/initials to fill the card.
  3. You can’t sign your own card.
  4. You can only collect one signature from each person. So each box should have a different signature.
  5. First person to get all the boxes filled with signatures is the winner. (For a shorter version you can get just one or two rows filled).

Here’s a version of Birthday Signature Bingo that you can download and adapt for your own use:

Some of the squares are specific to our daughter and the guests who were at the party. For example, she had cousins, aunts/uncles & grandparents attending so we included those squares. Several of her friends have a birthday in the same month. You could add things specific to the birthday person or the guests attending. For example if work friends were attending you could include “I work with (name).”

Have you played signature bingo before? What games/ideas would you suggest for getting people talking and mixing at a party?
