Thanks to May from Brizzy Mays Books and Bruschetta for nominating me for this award. Despite May living in my home city we’ve never met in person (we’ll have to change that). I first remember reading Brizzy Mays blog when she was setting up a street library in a local park, so we’ve been following each other for a couple of years now. As your blog name suggests she writes about books and food, primarily.
It’s taken a few months but I’ve finally gotten around to acting on this nomination.
Award Rules:
1 Thanks the blogger who nominated you (as above )
2 Answer the questions you are asked ( if you’re comfortable doing so!)
3 Create 10 questions for the bloggers you’ve nominated.
4 Nominate at least 3 bloggers for the Special Blogger Award.
5 Comment on your nominees most recent blog post to let them know you’ve nominated them.
6 Have fun!
Answers to the questions I was given:
1. The last theatrical production or musical performance you attended?
Les Miserables – Our minister had organised a group booking and my daughter took me for my birthday, which had been the day before. It was an amazing performance by final year students at The Con.
2. Your next holiday destination?
My parents-in-laws unit at Caloundra, currently holidaying there and it’s where we spend most of our holidays. It’s makes for a cheap holiday and it’s a beautiful location.
3. Do you set yourself goals?
Have not been very good at this but am trying to do this more intentionally. Have some goals in mind for the quarter and year but actually need to write them down properly.
4. So many books are made into a movie. Do you have a favourite?
I would generally prefer to read the book, rather than watch the movie. Though having said that The Notebook is a beautiful movie, which I actually saw a couple of times before reading the book. Before reading The Notebook, I read a few other Nicholas Sparks books.
5. If you could invite any three people – dead or alive- to a dinner party who would they be?
My friend Cheryl, who lives in England and I don’t get to see often; Mother Teresa, as I think she was an amazing woman & Bob Goff as I think he’d have some amazing stories after having read a couple of his books.
6. You wish your Super Power was?
Being able to fly. I think it would be pretty good to be able to soar like a bird.
7. If you could do one thing to change the world what would you do?
Take away prejudice and make things more equal for all. Not sure how though!
8. Please share a secret about your childhood
Not so much a secret but I moved a lot as a child. I went to 3 primary schools and 3 high schools and had lived in 10 houses in 8 places by the time I finished school.
9. Name two things that are on your MUST DO LIST
Would like take my children to see some of the country towns I lived as a child. I’d also like to visit Italy, particularly Rome.
10 Do you have a song, movie or book that you return to when in need of comfort?
Probably just some Bible verses to remind me who I am and how much I’m loved.
10 Questions for my nominees:
In fitting my blog subtitle my questions loosely follow the body, mind, heart & soul categories.
- What’s your favourite main meal?
- What’s your favourite dessert?
- What sort of exercise do you do?
- What’s a great book that you’ve read lately?
- What’s your favourite boardgame?
- What’s a must see movie that you’d recommend?
- What do you like to do in your spare time?
- How do you let others know that you care about them?
- What do you do take care of your soul?
- What is something your grateful for, right now?
My Nominees:
Cate from Life Behind the Purple Door
Cate blogs about her family, organisation & life with her kids. I first met Cate in person at a Northside Bloggers catch-up a few years ago. I’ve been following her blog ever since. About 3 years ago I was in her group for an on-line video challenge which helped us get to know each other a little more. In the past year or so we’ve met in person a few times to encourage and support each other.
Joelle from Sulfite-free Cooking
I found Joelle’s blog a few years ago while searching for sulfite-free recipes. There are still not many blogs out there that focus on sulfite-free cooking so it was great to find this blog and gain some inspiration for new recipes.
Andrea from ARHtistic Licence
Andrea started this blog to encourage & inspire people to create. She blogs about all sorts of creative pursuits from writing, to quilting, to zentangling. I think I found this blog when I was searching on WordPress for Zentangle. I participated in the A to Z blogging challenge last April after reading about it on ARHtistic Licence.
Thanks to these 3 bloggers for their support and inspiration.
Thank you for nominating me, Jillian.
I would love to see Les Mis.
It was a great show!
