It’s a little late but here’s my reading log for June. There are 6 books in my reading log for June.

Lady reading in a library with the words "Reading Log June 2019"

Here’s what I read:

Everybody Always by Bob Goff

Bob Goff shares how he attempts to love everybody, always; even the difficult ones without distinction and without limits. He does this by sharing truths as he shares stories. He challenges everyone to love everybody, always. A great, easy to read, yet challenging book.

Come Eat With Me by Rob Douglas

This was the first eBook that I received from Speakeasy to read and review. You can read my full review here. Come Eat with Me goes through the Bible looking at how God is the consummate host and the ultimate guest, showing what we can learn from that.

A Lifetime of Impossible Days by Tabitha Bird

This is the debut novel from Australian author, Tabitha Bird. The story is told from the perspective of 8-year-old, 33-year-old and 93-year-old Willa. Eight-year-old Willa receives a mysterious box and manages to create a time slip. The different aged Willa’s manage to connect. Eight-year-old Willa is experiencing a traumatic childhood, 33-year-old Willa is haunted by her traumatic past and 93-year-old Willa is losing her memory but knows there is something she has to warn her past selves about. Will it be too late?

Sea Swept by Nora Roberts

Three adopted brothers must return home to care for their younger adopted brother when their father dies. Can the brothers put aside their difference to keep their young brother? This is the first book in a series, so now I want to read the other books!

God In My Head by Joshua Steven Grisetti

This is the true story of Grisetti’s experience of meeting God during an accidental prescription overdose, whilst visiting the dentist. Josh has a fear of the dentist largely due to the fact that the drugs administered to stop the pain during fillings as a child, did not work on him. Thus he tended to overcompensate with drugs in order to not experience pain. Grisetti openly admits that Christians and non-Christians alike are going to struggle with different parts of his story. However, it is his story and we can’t dispute what he has experienced. Though I do believe that some of what he experienced may be due to his particular opinions of certain aspects of faith. I was drawn to the book as it seemed to be about a near death experience and encounter of God. I did struggle with some of what Josh said that he experienced.

You Will Not Have My Hate by Antoine Leiris

Antoine Leiris wife was killed whilst she was at the theatre, during terroist attacks in Paris. He was left to raise their little boy alone. Days after the attacks, Antoine wrote an open letter to the attackers on Facebook and said that he refused to have his and his sons life defined by their acts. He openly shares his thoughts and feelings of trying to cope with the fact that his beautiful wife is gone and he is now left alone to bring up his son. A very moving memoir.

I read 6 books this month which brings my total to 27 books for the year so far. That is 5 less books than I had read this time last year.
