White Knuckle Love – Book Review

February 2, 2021February 2, 2021 Jillian

White Knuckle Love: A Memoir of Holding by April Stace is a book that I'm reviewing for Speakeasy. For the past few years I've been writing a reading log of all the books I read each month but I'm not doing that anymore. Though from time to time you'll see these reviews when I read… Continue reading White Knuckle Love – Book Review

I've recently found Heather Gerwing's Share Four Somethings linkup and thought that I might add it to my blogging routine for 2021. I think this will replace my once a month reading log. Something Loved My favourite blue chair I love my blue wing back chair in our lounge room . I've been enjoying my… Continue reading Share Four Somethings – January 2021

Momentum: My One Word for 2021

January 19, 2021January 22, 2021 Jillian

Many people choose one word as a guide for the year. I've done this for the last few years. I've had Confident Action (yes technically two words but I felt I needed both), Now & Connection. This year my one word is Momentum. Momentum speaks of action and movement. To me it's about moving forward… Continue reading Momentum: My One Word for 2021

January 12, 2021January 11, 2021 Jillian

Wow, another year is over! Here's all the books I read in December. All of them were fiction and most were read when we were away for about a week before Christmas. 2020 was the 4th year that I kept a reading log. I didn't keep a running tally each month but couldn't help tallying… Continue reading December 2020 Reading Log

Using Children’s Books to Talk about Faith

October 23, 2020October 23, 2020 Jillian

It's Children's Book Week here in Australia. A few years ago I wrote about some of the books that my children enjoyed. In this post I'm going to focus on using picture books to talk about faith and life. Picture books often have great life lessons in them or things that children can learn about.… Continue reading Using Children’s Books to Talk about Faith

Games for Small Numbers of Children

September 29, 2020September 29, 2020 Jillian

With the school holidays upon us, I thought I'd share some games for small numbers of children. There are still many places where large numbers can't gather. Most of these games can be played with 2, 3 or 4 children or adults. Some of them can even be played alone. Many of these games I… Continue reading Games for Small Numbers of Children

August seems to have passed in a flash. We celebrated 2 birthdays in our family, I've been working on my digital cookbook and helping my daughter prepare to move interstate. All in all it's meant I haven't written a blog post since the July reading log. Below are the books that I managed to finish… Continue reading August 2020 Reading Log

Welcome!

I’ve always enjoyed cooking and feeding my family but discovering food intolerances certainly added to the challenge. Here I’m sharing recipes that are generally gluten free, dairy free and preservative free among other things; as well as some of our food discoveries.

I’m also passionate about feeding my family’s mind, heart & soul as well.  So will share some of what we’ve done in these areas as well.

Thanks for stopping by!
