Welcome to day one of the A to Z blogging Challenge. During April I’m going to be blogging through the alphabet.

Since we deal with food intolerances in our house and that’s how this blog started I thought I’d share an A to Z list of the foods we can still eat or foods that we’ve discovered since dealing with multiple food intolerances.

  • A – Avocado Chocolate Mousse – If you don’t tell them what’s in it, they’ll never know!
  • B – Banana Pancakes (2 ingredients bananas & eggs) and we now have Bacon & Eggs for breakfast on Sunday’s
  • C – Corn Thins Pizzas, Cocao and Cocao Butter
  • D – Dairy Free alternatives including Cashew Custard, Sunflower Seed Sour Cream, Coconut Yoghurt (also good in Beef Stroganoff instead of sour cream) or this French Onion Dip Recipe.
  • E – Egg substitutes when baking for egg intolerances or allergies such as a chia ‘egg’ and Easter Treats we can eat.
  • F – Flours of many varieties including pure corn flour, tapioca flour, rice flour, coconut flour, besan flour, buckwheat flour
  • G – Grain Free Dough – the most versatile GF Dough, great for lasagana noodles, pizza bases, flat bread, pasties & more. Found in Life Changing Food.
  • H – Hide the Goodness
  • I – Ice-cream alternatives including our favourite Chocolate Banana nut ice-cream made with frozen bananas
  • J – Jam made with Chia seeds or jelly type things using agar, agar in stead of gelatine as gelatine contains sulphites
  • K – Kidney Beans in a cake?Magic Bean Cake and KFC (Krispy Fried Chicken) – made with rice flour
  • L – (Raw) Lamington Truffles recipe made as a slice
  • M – Maple Syrup and other sugar alternatives
  • N – Nut Milk and other milk alternatives – What’s your favourite milk alternative? Also nut based granola.
  • O – Oven Baked Goodies – much of this as my husband can’t eat most commercial gluten free products due to sulphites including our favourite Gluten and Dairy Free Chocolate Brownies.
  • P – ‘Please’ Cake – nut based cheese cakes, Peanut Butter Cookies and Porcupine Meat Balls
  • Q – Quinoa – Quinoa flakes are a good substitute for Oats though often good to use coconut or ground nuts/seeds as well, such as these Maple Quinoa Biscuits
  • R – Rice with many meals – Fried Rice is now a regular menu item and Rasberry Coconut slice (gluten free of course)
  • S – Sweet Potato Toast and avoiding Sulphites (pres 220-228) in many foods including some gluten free flours & thus in most commercial gluten free breads (even if not enough to be mentioned on packaging).
  • T – Tric’s Mince
  • U – Unique & Unusual Recipes and meals to make in under 40 minutes
  • V – Valentines Day (Proposal Day) heart shaped desserts & dinners
  • W – What’s for dinner? – A list of possible menu items for throughout the day.
  • X – Xanthan gum
  • Y – Yumi’s Dips are so yummy and I’m not getting paid to say that.
  • Z – Zoodles or Zuchinni Noodles – a grain free alternative to noodles

In compiling this post I’ve reminded myself of some recipes that I haven’t made for a while.
