Reading Log September 2019

This is my monthly reading log for September, where I write about the books I have read in the last month. Well I only finished 3 books during September. I started about 5 or 6 others but only finished 3.

Here’s what I read in September:

Let’s Hope for the Best by Carolina Setterwall

Carolina’s husband dies suddenly in his sleep one evening. She is left with an 8 month old baby to raise on her own. This is Carolina’s story of what happened and how you go on living when life suddenly changes.

A Timeline of Australian Food: From mutton to MasterChef by Jan O’Connell

As the name suggest this book looks at Australian Food with a timeline of the last 150 years. The book has come from a website which chases the history of Australian food. It briefly looks at pre-white settlement but looks at each decade from 1860, with the release of the first Australian cookbook to 2010. It’s a fascinating look at how the Australian diet has changed and when and how certain foods were made or introduced into Australia.

The Scarlet Thread by Francine Rivers

Sierra Madrid is unsettled when her husband accepts a job offer in Los Angeles which means uprooting her family and moving. While we learn about Sierra’s story we also read about Mary Kathryn McMurray as Sierra reads her journals. Mary was a young pioneer on the oregan trail who is upset with her husband for uprooting her family.

So with 3 books finished in September this brings my total to 37 books for the year so far. At three quarters of the way through the year this is 9 books less than this time last year.
