Reading Log August 2019

I finished 3 books in the month of August.

The books I read were:

What We Talk About When We Talk About God by Rob Bell

This book is written for believers and skeptics alike. In this book he looks at science and what that has to do with God. Bell helps us see the God is with us, for us and goes ahead of us. Watch the YouTube clip below to hear Rob Bell talk about his book.

Rob Bell has a very easy to read writing style, you can hear him speaking as you read. I’ve also previously read What is the Bible?  How an Ancient Library of Poems, Letters, and Stories Can Transform the Way You Think and Feel About Everything by Rob Bell

No Way Home: A Memoir of Life on the Run by Tyler Wetherall

At the age of 9, after having lived in thirteen houses and five countries Tyler discovers that her father is a fugitive on the run. Her mother shares a little after Scotland Yard comes to visit their home in England. Along with her sister, she then visits her father a number of times whilst he’s on the run in Europe. After he’s caught and imprisoned, she visits him annually during her summer holidays. She slowly learns more about what her father did.

Pain-Free Networking for Introverts! by Sally Eberhardt

I bought this book when I attended WordCamp last year and finally got around to reading it in the last couple of months. The author Sally Eberhardt spoke at this WordCamp on How to Make the Most of Your WordCamp Experience. I found this book helpful as I go to different events and meet new people. It reminded me that as an introvert I’m a good listener which is useful for networking. As I read the book I was prompted to organise another meet up with a fellow blogger who lives near me. Since reading the book and after attending a couple of WordPress events I’ve followed up with a few people that I’ve met. This book has been encouraging and helpful.

With 3 books read during August this means I’ve read 34 books in the year so far.
