It’s International Microvolunteering Day! Every April 15 since 2014 Microvolunteering Day has been recognised. Let’s explore the day for my ‘M’ post in the Blogging from A to Z Challenge!
What is Microvolunteering?
Apparantly the most generic definition is:
http://www.microvolunteeringday.com/index.html
‘bite-sized, on-demand, no commitment actions that benefit a worthy cause’
People who want to put their spare moments to good use can find worthy causes who need a small volunteering task completed.
How can I Microvolunteer?
The Microvolunteering Day website has plenty of ideas to choose from. Many can be done online but there are off-line options as well. The tasks include skilled, one-off tasks and unskilled repeatable tasks. Ideas include playing games for research, smartphone volunteering, helping science, writing, crafting and recycling. They also link to a number of microvolunteering platforms that you can explore for even more options.
How are You Going to Microvolunteer Today?
If you have a few spare minutes today why not choose a task and do some microvolunteering.
If you do some microvolunteering I’d enjoy hearing about what you did by commenting on this post.
I’ve never heard of microvolunteering, but I like it! Does it count that I watch a baby for a new mom who is studying to be a doula? When the labor pains start, I get to babysit till Dad gets home. 🙂
Thanks, and best wishes!

Cherdo, I hadn’t heard of it either, until recently. I’m sure your watching a baby for a new Mom more than counts! Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
What a neat concept.
Antoinette I thought it was a neat concept when I found it.
